International Beer Day

Yes, this is a day that is set aside to quaff the oldest beverage known to humankind. Beer is the third most consumed beverage in the world only after water and tea.

“Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!”
― Martin Luther

How to celebrate, if you are of a mind and temperament? Choose a local small-batch brewery or local pub. Put down the digital devices and chat with folks. Enjoy some live music, a hot pretzel with mustard, and the ambience. Here in the Franconia, NH area, we have several establishments to choose from, all of them working hard to bring some good food and good friendship for the rest of us. I appreciate their hard work. Many small brew-pubs host poetry readings… what a great combination!

Be safe, be smart, and enjoy the day!
