The NHWP Membership Committee has been busy coming up with new member benefits for you, several of which we’ll be rolling out over the next couple of weeks. The first is the “Writing 101s” series — mini-classes on writing. The Membership Committee asked local experts to contribute, so the Poetry 101 was authored by Martha Carlson-Bradley, the Fiction 101 was offered up by Elaine Isaak/E.C. Ambrose, and so on. You can find all of the Writing 101s here, or by using the What We Do/Resources for Writers tab on the NHWP website. These resources will be moving behind a members-only wall soon; check them out now.
Writers’ Day (Saturday, March 28) registrations are coming in fast and furiously, and there are only a couple of days left to get the early-bird discount. Careers and life-long friends have been made at this event, so don’t miss out. You’ll learn the truth about publishing, how to get away with murder, CPR for flat characters, and much more. The event will end with the induction of the inaugual class of the New Hampshire Literary Hall of Fame!
Finally, there are still two Three-Minute Slam Fiction regional events (Nashua and Manchester) at which you can show your chops and hope for better things. The state finals are set for March 23 at the New Hampshire Institue for the Arts.
