Poetry Society of NH Announce National Contest for College Students

POETRY SOCIETY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE ANNOUNCES

NATIONAL CONTEST FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

NEW HAMPSHIRE, Feb. 1, 2014 – The Poetry Society of New Hampshire (PSNH) welcomes submissions for its second annual poetry contest open to all undergraduate college students nationwide. The winning poet will receive a $200 prize as well as publication of the winning poem in the PSNH quarterly journal, The Poets’ Touchstone.

Entrants should submit a single poem at http://psnh.submittable.com/submit. The reading fee is $3 per submission. The deadline is March 15, and the winner will be announced by the end of May.  Any questions may be emailed to Contest Coordinator Melissa Varnavas at melissavarnavas@yahoo.com.

The winner of the 2013 Inaugural PSNH College Student Contest was Michelle Jia, Stanford University, for her poem, “On Encountering Her, Mother Music.”

The judge, who is not a PSNH member, will be announced at the end of the contest.
